In Spring 2014, I designed this collection from a small studio in the middle of San Francisco, in between making artwork and surfboards for myself. Every two weeks I would drive south looking for some bit of the coast that I hadn’t discovered yet. Sometimes only as far as Carmel to see Robinson Jeffer’s ‘Tor House’. Other times linking some lost roads connecting Juniperro Serra’s Missions all the way to San Diego. I was committed to seeing and learning and surfing as much as I could. When Arkitip approached me to design this collection for Quiksilver, I thought it would be the perfect medium to share my love of these places. The visuals are pretty diverse, from endangered California butterflies to the abstract symbols on the Adamson Wall in Malibu, to a t-shirt memorializing the last California Grizzly, last spotted in Santa Barbara County in 1924. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy it.

California: From the Mountains to the Waves
This collection celebrates California from the Sierras to the Pacific Ocean. Each piece honors a small part of its landscape and tells a story. I hope it will be as fun to experience this project unfolding as it was to create it.
